Victory over Sin, Sickness and Satan

Song:

1. He has given me victory
I will lift him higher
Jehovah
I will lift him higher

2. The Blood of Jesus set me free
From sin and sorrow
The Blood of Jesus set me free

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57). That is the final victory over Satan and it is finish!

“Therefore my people will go into exile for lack of understanding; their men of rank will die of hunger and their masses will be parched with thirst. Therefore the grave enlarges its appetite and opens its mouth without limit; into it will descend their nobles and masses with all their brawlers and revellers.” (Isaiah 5:13-14).

Many are sick because of ignorance.

Types of ignorance

  1. Ignorance of victory over sin
  2. Ignorance of freedom from sickness
  3. Ignorance of dominion and authority over Satan

Ignorance of victory over sin

3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. (John 8:3-4). But Jesus had compassion on her and gave her victory over sin even when the whole world condemned her: 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"

  11"No one, sir," she said.
"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin." (John 8:10-11).

Only by the power of the Lord can you be set free from the grip of sin and not man: “They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.” (2 Peter 2:19).

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21).

You should no longer condone sin. You must get tired of it and kick it. “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.” (Matthew 11:12).

And the moment you’re set free, all condemnation upon you is taken away. The devil has no right to accuse you any more. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” (Romans 8:1).

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1 Peter 1:3-5).

“That your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.” (Psalm 67:2).

Ignorance of freedom from Sickness

From the various passages below, you will observe that Jesus has set you free from any form of sickness. You’ve been delivered from every demonic infirmity and you need to realise this and stand on your victory.

“Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?" (Luke 13:16).

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5).

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” (Acts 10:38).

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24).

Ignorance of dominionand authorityover Satan

Who is Satan and his agents where a child of God is? He has been defeated several years ago and only bragging at the moment. He is now fighting a lost battle because its time is very short and he and all his agents would very soon be cast into hell.

“Having cancelled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” (Colossians 2:14-15).

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
