Simple Solution to a great problem
Song:
You deserve the glory
And the honour
Lord, we lift our hands in worship
As we lift your Holy name
You deserve the glory
And the honour
Lord, we lift our hands in worship
As we lift your Holy name
Chorus:
For You are great
You do miracles so great
There is no one else like You
There is no one else like You
Introduction
It is vitally important that you realise that God is closer to you than you probably even imagined. You don’t have to magnify your problems beyond what they really are. No point making a mountain out of molehill.
Red Sea parted [Exodus 14:1-31], Walls of Jericho fell down flat [Joshua 6:1-27], Naaman came to Elisha expecting some tedious process of healing was shocked to hear that all he needed to do was to “Go and wash in Jordan seven times.” [2 Kings 5:1-27]. Ten Lepers were simply told to go and show themselves to the Priests and they were healed instantaneously on their way. [Luke 17:11-19].
All these miracles were wrought in a simple way!
Do not fight in the flesh but in the Spirit.
3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? (Galatians 3:3).
Faith like a mustard seed is all you need:
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” [26] (Mark 11:22-27)
Peter Heals a Lame Beggar
1 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. 2 Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” (Acts 3:1-6).
David took off the physical armour that Saul put on him to fight Goliath because he didn’t want to fight in the flesh [1 Samuel 17:1-50 ],
Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you.”
38 Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armour on him and a bronze helmet on his head. 39 David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them.
“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. 40 Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine. [1 Samuel 17:38-40 ]
Because:
“The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD. “[Proverbs 21:31].
“I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favour to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all. “ [Ecclesiastes 9:11].
“It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. “ [Romans 9:16].
“It is not by strength that one prevails;” [1 Samuel 2:9b].
‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty. [Zechariah 4:6].
How did David defeat Goliath?
“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. 40 Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine. [1 Samuel 17:40 ]
So dip your hand in your bag – THE WORD OF GOD and bring out stones – THE PROMISES OF GOD and throw it on the devil.
Shalom!
