Removing Your Mountain
Song: Because He lives, I can face tomorrow Some problems appear bigger to us us as mountains, and they appear as mountains if you focus on them. When you focus on the problem God looks small, when you focus on God the problem looks small. The truth is your problem is a speck of dust, and maybe even an illusion, but Jesus and His Kingdom are the Mountain. God takes us into the "Faith Zone" by allowing us to face situations that are bigger than us so that we can see demonstrations of His love, by His power. All Christians go through times of shaking, when the Lord causes us to refocus on Him, to become more dependent upon Him. These are times that our faith is refined into pure gold. The things that are shaken are physical; the things that will remain are spiritual. It is time to focus on things that we cannot see with our physical eyes, but only with the spiritual eyes of our heart. “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” (Hebrews 11:3) and “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) I will like to discuss this topic under three sub-headings: 1. Promise for the faithful There are some things that humanly speaking appears impossible, but by HIS might – mountain of infirmity, difficulty has a personality behind it (devil) and God can destroy them if you surrender: 7 “What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’” (Zechariah 4:7) So it is not by your might – intelligence, money, beauty, power or influence. 2. Power for the faithful 6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6) The GRACE of God is there to help you. GRACE here is God’s Righteousness At Christ’s Expense. 3. Possibilities of faith 20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20) 22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” [26] (Mark 11:22-26) Conclusion: So what are you waiting for?
