THE NEED FOR HOSPITALITY IN OUR MINISTRIES

Appropriate for workers (Ministries leaders, executives and service team) of a CCR Prayer Group and Church.

Song:

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me (2x)

Fill me, mould me, melt me and use me

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me

Introduction:

I think it is important you as ministry servants know that you have become the parents of your members. You are a father/mother to both the rich/poor, healthy/sick, strong/weak spiritually, old/young, matured/immature, etc

Hebrew 13:2 : Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.”

The Soul and the Body .

“Dear Friends, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” 3 John 2.

It is pertinent to know that whatever affects the body affects the soul also. You cannot divorce the body from the soul. And as ministry servants you’ve got to be sensitive to this.

One body but many parts

“If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.” 1 Corinthians 12:26.

Supporting one another

“As iron sharpens, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17.

“A generous man will prosper;   he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25 .

You must be considerate, we do not all have the same strength, opportunity and resources. So judge fairly when implementing rules in your ministries.

How many of you have ministry address list where you can reach your members?

Pope John Paul II, an Epitome of love.

Romans 12:9-21

9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves. 11Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord. 12Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

17Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay, "says the Lord. 20On the contrary:
   "If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:9-21).

Your account of stewardship

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
